Lovell stars again in second Barbados Under-15 trial

Bridgetown, Barbados, April 14 – (www.barbadoscricket.org)- Skipper Raphael Lovell was again the star player, this time with both bat and ball, spurring his side to a five-wicket win against the Damarko Wiggins X1 in the second Barbados Under-15 one-day trial match at Desmond Haynes Oval.

After scoring the only half-century in the first match, Lovell, a left-arm spinner and left-handed batter, took three for 41 off 10 overs as Wiggins X1 made 190 in 46.3 overs.

He then hit the topscore of 43 off 47 balls with six fours and one six with his side reaching the target in 40.5 overs.

Three batters got into the 30s after the Wiggins X1 won the toss. They were: R’jai Gittens (36), Malique Aimey (32) and Jayden Chase (31).

Apart from Lovell’s three wickets, Gadson Bowens took two for 28, fellow off-spinner Antoine Darlington, two for 29 and leg-spinner Justin Parris, two for 31.

The Lovell X1 were put on course for victory by Abayomi Wilson (35) and Bowens (40) who added 96 in 20.3 overs for the first wicket. Both were run out.

Off-spinner Ian Boyce took two for 13.
