Kirton slams unbeaten century as Sir Charles X1 beat Sir Wes X1 in Match 5 of Legends Cup

Bridgetown, Barbados, October 3 – (www.barbadoscricket.org) – Skipper Nicholas Kirton hit an unbeaten century to help set up a commanding win by 192 runs for Sir Charles Griffith X1 over Sir Wes Hall X1 in Match 5 of the Barbados Cricket Legends 50-over Cup at Kensington Oval today.

Batting at No. 5 in the Day/Night encounter, left-hander Kirton made 103 not out off 97 balls with four fours and four sixes in a total of 309 for seven off 50 overs after winning the toss.

Kirton featured in an unbroken eighth wicket partnership of 136 in 12.4 overs with Matthew Jones, who made 73 not out off 42 deliveries including three fours and eight sixes.

Joshua Dorne scored 40 off 67 balls with four boundaries as he added 81 in 16.4 overs for the fourth wicket with Kirton.

Off-spinner Kemar Jabarry Smith took four for 85 off 10 overs.

Sir Wes Hall X1 were bowled out for 117 in 30.3 overs.

Hakeem Perryman scored 30 not out off 28 balls, Nathan Sealy 25 and Leniko Boucher 24.

Fast bowler Jaden Lorde was the leading wicket-taker with three for 25 off 6.3 overs.

Pacer Stefon King took two for 13, left-arm spinner spinner Jones, two for 15 and medium-pacer Jaden Leacock, two for 23.
