Gladiola lose to Yorkshire, Toppin hits first ton – BCA T20 Cup Championship, Series 1

Bridgetown, Barbados, April 7 – ( – Defending champions Superb Blend Gladiola lost to IGS Insurance Brokers Yorkshire by five wickets and Jafari Toppin of Windward struck the first century in a winning cause against Serve to Save Security Lords in Series 1 of the 2024 BCA Elite/Division 1 Twenty20 Cup Championship today.

Playing on home turf at Rices, Gladiola scored 129 for nine off 20 overs after they were sent in.

Rivaldo Clarke hit the top-score of 48 at No. 3.

Yorkshire achieved target with two overs remaining.

Opener Toppin slammed an unbeaten 107 off 50 balls with six fours and eight sixes as Windward amassed the highest total of 221 for four at Lowlands before triumphing by 87 runs.

Toppin, the Windward Club coach, added 91 off 8.1 overs for the second wicket with Tennyson Roach Jr, who scored 52 off 33 balls including five fours and two sixes.

Lords were limited to 134 for seven.

Left-arm fast bowler Gary Austin grabbed five for 23 as Bayview Hospital YMPC dismissed St. Catherine for the lowest total of 74 to win by 134 runs at Beckles Road.
