Combermere clinch BCA Under-15 title after drawing with St. Leonard’s

Bridgetown, Barbados, August 10 – (www.barbadoscricket.org) – Nicholls Baking Combermere captured the 2023 BCA Schools’ Under-15 Championship by way of first innings over St. Leonard’s in the drawn three-day Final at Lears.

Resuming today on 46 for one off 16.2 overs in their second innings, St. Leonard’s made 178 for six declared off 54 overs.

Opener Kelani Clarke, from an overnight 34, hit the top-score of 88. He faced 122 balls and struck seven fours.

Maccaria Hanes contributed 34 in a second wicket partnership of 91 with Clarke, while captain Jayden Chase made 21.

Leg-spinner Javed Worrell took five for 55 off 20 overs.  He also effected a run out of Hanes in the 44th over to break the stand with Clarke, who was dismissed in the following over as St. Leonard’s suddenly slumped from 137 for one to 149 for five.

Set 102 to win, Combermere ended on 37 for two off 23 overs.
