Brathwaite hits century in second Barbados Under-19 three-day trial

Bridgetown, Barbados, April 18 – (www.barbadoscricket.org) – Zion Brathwaite struck a century on the opening day of the second Barbados Under-19 three-day trial match at Lears today.

Skipper Brathwaite scored 118 off 122 balls in 164 minutes with 16 fours and three sixes at No. 6 in a first innings total of 234 all out after winning the toss against Joshua Dorne X1.

Brathwaite and Xaundre Baptiste (25) added 82 for the ninth wicket before Brathwaite was last out.

Preston Clarke took two for eight, Dre Springer, two for 12 and fellow pacer Raneico Smith, two for 26.

Dorne X1 closed on 128 for three following an opening partnership of 101 between Gadson Bowens and Achilles Browne.

Bowens scored 55 off 77 balls with five fours and one six in just over two hours, while Browne was unbeaten on 48 off 98 balls including five boundaries.

Venice Vaughan has two for 20.
