Boucher, Worrell blast tons in record opening stand of 361 for Carlton as BCA Super Cup opens

Bridgetown, Barbados, June 12 – (www.barbadoscricket.org) – A record opening partnership of 361 between Leniko Boucher and Rashawn Worrell of Carlton highlighted Series 1 of the 2022 BCA Elite/Division 1 Super Cup Championship today.

Playing against IGS Insurance Brokers Yorkshire at Friendship in Zone ‘B’, the pair blazed their way to centuries with the stand taking 48.2 overs as Carlton amassed 380 for two off 50 overs before winning by 183 runs.

The diminutive Boucher made 178 not out off 144 balls including 16 fours and five sixes and left-hander Worrell scored 156 off 153 balls with 13 fours and six sixes following Carlton’s luck of the toss.

Yorkshire were bowled out for 197 in 42.4 overs.

Jamar Layne hit the topscore of 66 off 101 balls containing eight fours.

Matthew Jones took four for 28 and fellow left-arm spinner Daniel Babb, three for 41.

Opener Jai-Bari Yarde also slammed a century for Empire who crushed Sagicor Life UWI ‘B’ by nine wickets at Bank Hall in Zone ‘A’.

Chasing 157 to win, Empire triumphed in 19 overs with Yarde scoring 100 not out off 62 balls including 12 threes and 12 fours.

Left-arm spinner Camarie Boyce took five for 34 off 10 overs as UWI ‘B’ fell for 156 in 39 overs.
