Demetrius Richards hits hundred in Barbados Pride practice match

Bridgetown, Barbados, January 24 – (www.barbadoscricket.org) – Demetrius Richards completed a splendid hundred as he shared in a last-wicket century partnership with Chemar Holder for the BCA Legends X1 against Barbados Pride on the third day of the four-day practice match at Kensington Oval.

Richards, starting the day on 70 with Holder on seven, carried the Legends X1 from an overnight 312 for nine to 406 all out – a first innings lead of 111.

Richards, who went to the crease at No. 4, was caught and bowled by off-spinner Chaim Holder for 108, which came off 223 balls in 347 minutes and included 12 fours and one six. His century took 196 balls with 11 fours and one six.

Chemar Holder, better known for his fast bowling but who has the ability to develop into an all-rounder, made 56 not out off 67 balls in 112 minutes with nine fours and one six.

The partnership was worth 104 off 22 overs.

Medium-pacer Shaquille Cumberbatch took four for 73 off 15 overs and Chaim Holder, three for 98 off 22 overs.

Barbados Pride were 262 for five in their second innings – an overall lead of 151 – at stumps.

Opener Zachary McCaskie scored 62 off 82 balls in two hours with nine fours and one six, and Kevin Wickham made 59 off 60 deliveries in 67 minutes including eight fours and two sixes.

Off-spinning all-rounder Kemar Smith has four for 69 off 22 overs.
