Richards, Goodridge hit half-centuries in Barbados Pride practice match

Bridgetown, Barbados, January 23 – (www.barbadoscricket.org) – Lifted by half-centuries from Demetrius Richards and Amari Goodridge, the BCA Legends X1 fought back against Barbados Pride on the second day of the four-day practice match at Kensington Oval today.

Responding to a first innings total of 295 all out, the Legends X1 closed on 312 for nine.

Richards was unbeaten on 70 and Goodridge made an attacking 65 as the pair added 115 in 79 minutes for the seventh wicket after coming together with the score 138 for six.

Batting at No. 4, Richards, who plays for new Elite division three-day champions Wildey, has faced 159 balls in 246 minutes, hitting eight fours and one six.

Goodridge, a Sagicor Life UWI player, who has been enjoying a fine all-round match, received 46 balls and struck eight fours and three sixes.

Opener Rashawn Worrell scored 42 off 78 balls with seven fours and one six.

Medium-pacer Shaquille Cumberbatch has four for 64 off 13 overs and off-spinner Chaim Holder, two for 75 off 18 overs.

Earlier, from an overnight 292 for eight, Barbados Pride were dismissed after only three overs.

Captain Shane Dowrich made 84 after resuming on 82, falling to leg-spinner Javed Leacock.

Chaim Holder was unbeaten on 38.

Medium-fast bowler Goodridge was the leading wicket-taker with three for 14 off five overs.

Leacock took two for 43 off 15 overs and off-spinner Kemar Smith, two for 68 off 18 overs.
