BCA NEWS RELEASE #26/24

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT FOR THE UNVEILING OF SIR CHARLES GRIFFITH STATUE EVENT TO BE HELD ON MONDAY MARCH 25, 2024

Following a recent meeting held on Saturday March 23, 2024, kindly see below the traffic management arrangements for the unveiling of the Sir Charles Griffith statue ceremony to be held at Kensington Oval on Monday March 25, 2024. The event is scheduled to commence at 4:30pm.

Overview

The red indicates where traffic flow will be curtailed, while the green shows where traffic will continue to flow. Essentially, the traffic lane on President Kennedy Drive and Fontabelle Road closest to Kensington Oval will be blocked to traffic.

Arrangements

1) Fontabelle Road will remain open, but traffic will only be allowed to flow in a northerly direction toward Mighty Grynner Highway — out of town.

2) Traffic flowing along Mighty Grynner Highway toward Bridgetown will turn right and left at the Holbourne Junction — but will not be allowed to continue straight onto Fontabelle Road.

3) President Kennedy Drive will remain open, but between Holbourne Junction and Westbury Road junction traffic will only flow eastward — in the direction of Eagle Hall.

4) Traffic coming from Eagle Hall toward Holbourne will be diverted left or right at the Westbury Road junction. No traffic will flow from Westbury Road in the direction of Kensington Oval.

5) Members of The Barbados Police Service will be on hand to direct and assist motorists and pedestrians at these junctions.
