BCA NEWS RELEASE # 11/22

BARBADOS CRICKET ASSOCIATION AND LADY GAVRON TO MAKE PRESENTATION TO AWARDEES AT KENSINGTON OVAL

Barbadian cricketer Miss Alison Gordon will become the first (1st) female recipient of the prestigious Lord Gavron Award when officials of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) and  Lady Gavron assemble at Kensington Oval for an important ceremony that is scheduled to be held in the BCA Presidential Suite at 12:00 noon on Wednesday February 16, 2022.

Talented allrounder Gordon, who originates from the parish of Saint Peter in Barbados was originally selected to the National Senior Female cricket squad in 2015 (aged 17) and also captained the National Under 19 female squad in 2017 and 2018.

She is a proud graduate of the Ellerslie Secondary school and is the holder of an Associate Degree in Physical Education from the Barbados Community College (BCC). Gordon has achieved the Cricket West Indies (CWI) coaching certification at the Foundation Level.  Since the advent of Covid 19 globally in early 2019, the opportunity to conduct the physical presentation of the annual award was curtailed.
