November 4, 2021

The Directors of the Board of the Barbados Cricket Association met on Wednesday November 3, 2021 and decided to cancel the 2021 BCA Domestic Cricket Season which
was scheduled to commence on September 11, 2021. This decision has been taken as a result of the escalating number of daily COVID-19 cases
in Barbados and also Government Directive No. 11.(1) of the latest Emergency Management (COVID-19) (Curfew) (No. 20) Directive 2021 which states “All indoor,
contact sports and team sports, including practice sessions of all such sports, are prohibited.”

We delayed this decision hoping that conditions would have improved over the past month but they have in fact gotten worse over this period. Hence we have no choice but
to officially cancel the season. Despite the cancellation of the season, we will ensure that all national senior and junior teams are adequately prepared for all upcoming major competitions. This will include the playing of the Legends Series of three day matches in November and December in preparation for the Regional four day competition in early 2022.

Despite the disappointments of this year’s cancellation, we would like to assure you that we are actively planning for an exciting 2022 Domestic Cricket Season. Hopefully the
worst of the COVID-19 pandemic will be behind us by that time. The Board of Directors would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience and continued support.
